Tasty Kon Loh Mee aka Dry Egg Noodles
Noodles ...... A great majority of children normally prefer a meal of noodles rather than a rice meal. I remember that once my children told me that they will not get 'jelak' (bored) even with 3 meals in a day, of noodles, especially won ton mee ...... egg noodles, be it soupy or dry. Here's a delicious and well balanced preparation of won ton mee which they will always enjoy with glee.

Fudgy Brownies
There are various Brownies recipes, totally chocolate, nutty or even zebra that have a layer of cream cheese in between. What makes Brownies the way they are, be it cakey, chewy or fudgy, depends on the way the ingredients are combined. Cakey ones use butter creamed with sugar and a good amount of flour, while fudgy ones are made with melted butter or vegetable oil and less flour, hence nice and dense.

Japanese Green Tea Pound Cake
I recently received an email on the many wonders of Green Tea and as I do have some Green Tea powder sitting in my fridge, whipped up this recipe.
Banana Chiffon Cake
"A Banana a day keeps the doctor away" - as compared to an Apple, it has four times protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorous, five times vitamin 'A' and iron and twice the other vitamins and minerals. Being an inexpensive supplement, it can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, thus making it a must add to our daily diet.
Sweetened Bean Curd Barley and Gingko Nuts
Barley - a grain that is packed full of fibre and minerals, which can help reduce cholesterol levels, may also help stablilise blood glucose levels which may benefit people with diabetes and consuming barley can also help in the reduction of gallstones. An ideal dessert on a hot afternoon and incidentally it's my late dad's favourite.

Grandma's Chicken Rendang
I picked up this dish from a very old neighbour, fondly remembered as 'Malay Aunty' as hers was the only Malay family in a totally Chinese dominated neighbourhood, back in the late 50's. Young children addressed her as "Grandma'. She liked her rendang to be cooked dry, with some 'kerisik' (fried coconut) tossed in at the end. On the contrary, I prefer mine to have a little bit of gravy and omitted the 'kerisik' for health reasons.
Sweet Red Bean aka Hoong Tau Sar
The 'tong sui' street in Ipoh, is popular among Malaysian Chinese for its hawkerfare and there are stalls which specialise in 'tong sui' like red bean, black glutinous rice, bean curd barley with gingko nuts, 'bubur cha-cha', egg tea and 'mak chook', just to name a few. Normally these are served with 'yau char kway' or other 'kuih-muih'.

Having some left-over Green Apples from baking the Apple Walnut Yoghurt Cake, I baked this and while making it, can't help reminiscing of my nieces in Aloha and Aussie land, they'll only be too glad to whack this up for me.
Zebra Cake
I've tweaked this recipe somewhat, and the end result ................. Yum, Yum
Reduced : Sugar content to 5 oz. Caster sugar
Used : 3 Teasps. Chocolate Powder instead of 2 Tablespoons Dark Cocoa Powder
Replaced : Milk with Yeo's Soyrich Sugarless Soymilk

Cream Corn Raisin Muffins
Muffins are simple quick bread that are traditionally baked from a batter prepared from a mixture of egg, milk and oil stirred into sifted flour, sugar, salt, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder. The amount of mixing that is optimum for muffins is just enough to blend the liquid and dry ingredients, just to combine and not to produce a smooth batter. When lifted with a spoon, the batter should break and separate easily.
Muffins have a coarser, somewhat moist texture and not as sweet as cupcakes, and they are baked at a higher temperature for a shorter length of time, due to the texture of the dough and to achieve the best results.

Apple Walnut Yoghurt Cake
This is my maiden posting - an Apple Walnut Yoghurt Cake which is light and not too sweet, which will be marvelous for those who are watching their sugar level and just love eating! Not only does it go well with a cup of piping hot coffee or tea, it's healthy too. Do try it out. It is not only as easy as ABC but you will enjoy eating it so much that you may want to try this recipe again or share it with your relatives and friends.

I'm very interested in baking, a bit on cooking and eager to try out the various delicious recipes that are on the internet. However, I like to twist and experiment with the recipes to my liking.
